This is one smokin' show! It's usually overshadowed by other shows from this tour but it stands up well with the rest. The first set opening Bertha is hot with Jerry's voice and guitar playing in top form. Me and My Uncle finds the band in full country mode. I think that many of these country songs peaked in the early '70's. Loser is dark and gritty with Jerry's guitar growling. Scarlet Begonias grooves along in a nice pace in it's third live performance. Jerry quickly sets up another newish tune in It Must Have Been The Roses. Jack Straw and Tennesse Jed returns us to cowboy rock star mode which is so fitting in Montana. Deal is it's early '70's twangy best starting with the polka ode to beer. Big River reminds us that the Clearwater River isn't all that far away. Brown-Eyed Women keeps up the pace before Playing In The Band reminds us that these guys are Cosmic Cowboys.
The second set starts with cooking versions of U.S. Blues, El Paso and the cool strains of Row Jimmy. Weather Report Suite begins the jam and goes sweetly into an epic Dark Star which goes into a just as sweet China Doll. Promised Land returns us to rock star mode. Not Fade Away rocks with Billy's drums laying down a killer groove before going into Goin' Down The Road Feeling Bad. The encore of One More Saturday Night ends the show on a perfect high note.
